Rogers Santa Parade

Jody and I went to see the Santa parade this year. Wearing the stupid free antlers we managed to get interviewed by CTV news (since I revealed that Santa doesn't exist I doubt I'll make it on TV... :) All I said was that Santa was real but its odd that the card on the gift (from Santa) is in your parents handwriting.

Also- the Grand Marshall for the Parade was..... Stargate.

You got it- Jaffa were guarding the float and a number of the stars of the show were on hand to wave at everyone.

Was fun! :)

Gears of War
Dark's Metacritic: 85/100.

Graphically this game sets the bar for characters and environments. Very detailed bumpmaps, great shaders, lots of little touches. Mix in lots of particles and you have a render-geeks wet dream. Gameplay wise....the game doesn't advance the genre- it doesn't bring anything new to the table. If anything it falls down a little at rail car sequence (I've played that a few times now eh? Unreal, Soldier of Fortune, etc...its getting old).

Its a good game, I recommend it to anyone and it is great way reference for what good art looks like.
